Co-op Work Programs
International students are eligible for the Co-operative Education experience!
Employers want to hire graduates with education and experience. Co-operative Education is a proven educational model that allows you to combine your academic studies with curriculum-related, paid work experience to help you develop the skills you need to be successful in YOUR future career. Co-op provides full time opportunities that last for 12 to 17 weeks.

Working while studying
International students can work up to 20 hours per week on campus for the first 6 months and thereafter can work off-campus up to 20 hours per week. Student can earn approximately C$ 7 - C$ 12 per hour.

On completion of the course
Canada is experiencing a skills shortage and views both home and foreign graduates as an important talent pool. Skills shortages exist in IT, science, engineering and research. British nationals entering the country with experience and skills in these areas may be viewed as a valuable resource by employers.
Canadian government has started a new work permit scheme, under the new scheme announced

Foreign students going to Canada will now be able to get an open work permit under a post-graduate programme, with virtually no restrictions on the type of employment and no requirement of a job offer. 

The duration of the work permit has been increased to three years to ensure easier employment opportunities to target foreign students in an increasingly competitive global education market. 

Open and longer work permits provide international students with more opportunities for Canadian work experience
