While Pursuing the Course
Any International student wishing to pursue full-time studies in Singapore in an institution that is registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE); or has obtained approval from the Commissioner, ICA to accept international student, is required to apply for a Student's Pass.
Student pass holders are strictly not allowed to engage in any form of employment, business profession or occupation, whether paid or unpaid. This is unless they have the consent in writing of the Director of Immigration. If approved by Director Ministry of Manpower a student can work maximum of 16 hours a week and is a full-time matriculated or registered student in one of the institutions.

On Completion of Course
If you intend to look for employment after your graduation you must make sure your student pass does not expire. You may then apply for a social visit pass at the Singapore Immigration & Registration approximately 2 weeks before your student pass expires.

With social visit pass students can take up job-interviews in Singapore. Social Visit Pass has 2-4 weeks validity period. The social visit pass can be further extended for 3 months.

Fees required for extending the social visit pass
Extension of a social visit pass for up to 3 months the fees charged is S$40 and the fee is equally applicable for every further extensions.S$20 is the fee charged for a social visit visa.

Processing Time for a social visit pass

• Persons can get their visa processed on the same day in the weekdays provided their number in the queue is not more than 7400
• On Saturdays persons can get their visa between 11a.m. to 12p.m. provided their number in the queue is not more than 7200.
